Scholarship Summary
OnwardDental provides a $1,250 scholarship to a qualified dental student once per year. The student should desire to one day own their own dental practice, and is chosen solely at the discretion of OnwardDental and is based upon essay entries.
The Essay
Please submit a 300-700 word essay to scholarships@onwarddental.com that answers the following question from your point-of-view.
In the modern business environment, dentistry is getting more and more competitive. Increased marketing costs, corporate competition, and PPO reimbursements are producing a downward pressure on the incomes of dentist. As an aspiring practice owner how do you envision balancing the business demands necessary to make your practice successful with the ethical demands of not overdiagnosing your patients?
Terms and Conditions
By submitting an application for our scholarship, you are agreeing to OnwardDental's Terms and Conditions. When you apply you are agreeing to and accepting these Terms and Conditions.
All correspondence between applicant and OnwardDental will be operated via email, except at Onwarddental's discretion. All applicants must use a school or university email address to be eligible. Any changes to this email address, after submission of application and without necessary cause, may result in cancellation of their application. Any applicant may be required to show proof including an official transcript that they are enrolled in an accredited dental school program.
We reserve the right to offer any value of funds, up to the value of $1,250. OnwardDental reserves the right to make any decisions on how payment is made and can withdraw the offer of scholarship at its own discretion.
Applicants that accept a scholarship irrevoacbly authorize OnwardDental to use their name, likeness, brief biographical information and to copy, exhibit, publish or distribute their essay for any lawful purpose and waive any right to inspect or approve the finished product. They agree to hold harmless and release OnwardDental from all claims, demands and causes of action which they, their heirs, representatives, executors, administrators or any other persons acting on their behalf or on behalf of their estate have or may have by reason of this authorization.
If OnwardDental knows or has reason to believe that you have provided false or misleading information, we may reassess your entitlement to the scholarship and you will be liable to re-pay to OnwardDental the total sum of any payments incorrectly made to you. OnwardDental reserves the right to cancel this Scholarship program at any point.
